Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
OpenLog has no accounts, no analytics and no ads. Your training log is stored only in your browser, on your device. The one time anything you write leaves your device is when you choose to use the AI plan builder.
Who we are
OpenLog (openlog.fit) is run by Yan Sokalau. For any question about this policy or your data, write to [email protected].
What stays on your device
- Your log — groups, trackers, targets and every entry you record — is kept in your browser's storage (IndexedDB). It is never sent to us, and we cannot see it.
- Display settings — light or dark theme, metric or imperial units — are kept in your browser's local storage.
- Backups you export are files on your device. You decide where they go.
You can delete all of it at any time with Clear everything in the app menu, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. Because we never hold a copy, we cannot recover it for you either — export a backup if you want one.
The AI plan builder
When you ask the app to build a plan, it sends what you entered for that request — pasted program text, the contents of any files you attach, your notes, your quiz answers and your unit preference — to our server function, which passes it to OpenAI to write the plan and returns the plan to your browser.
- We do not store what you send or the plan that comes back, and we do not log it.
- OpenAI processes it as our service provider under its API terms. Its handling of API data — including how long it is kept for abuse monitoring — is described in OpenAI's privacy policy and business data commitments.
- If you mention health details such as an injury, they are used only to write your plan. Leave out anything you would rather not share; the builder works without it.
- Nothing is sent until you press Build my plan.
Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To stop automated abuse, the AI plan builder uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a request comes from a person. It runs in your browser when you open the builder and processes signals such as your IP address and browser and device characteristics. Your use of Turnstile is subject to the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Hosting
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages, limit request rates and protect the site from attacks, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Fonts
The OpenLog wordmark uses a font served by Google Fonts, so your browser fetches it from Google, which receives your IP address and basic request details, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Only the letters of the wordmark are requested, and the app caches them to work offline.
Cookies
OpenLog sets no cookies and uses no tracking or advertising technology. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies for security, as described in its policies.
Legal bases
Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on:
- your request, to send what you entered to OpenAI and build the plan you asked for;
- our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, for bot checks and hosting logs;
- our legitimate interest in showing the site as designed, for loading the wordmark font.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Since we keep no account or copy of your data, there is usually nothing for us to hand over or delete — but write to [email protected] with any request and we will help.
Children
OpenLog is not intended for children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted in the app.
